Special Olympics Utah held the first state Summer Games in Cedar City from June 2-4, drawing several hundred athletes from 46 Utah teams who competed in soccer, softball, (delete and) T-ball, and track and field events.

Robert David Pearson, who attends Northern Hourly Services Day Program, was one of nearly 200 Special Olympics Utah athletes who competed in the March 23, 2011 Winter Games at Powder Mountain and North Fork Park.
